From the Show... Part 5: Petal Bowls

I had made two of these bowls previously and gotten TONS of compliments on them, so I thought I'd make a few more for the sale. Of course, they were the pieces most picked-up by people and sold fairly early in the morning.

I am just fascinated by the way the glazes mix on the inside, especially given the irregularity of the clay holding it. I'm going to try to make a whole lot more of these since people like them.

The young woman who bought them said she was going to use them for parties (nuts, etc) and for eating edamame. Another woman had wanted to purchase just one, saying it would be good for a votive candle. With that in mind I'm going to make some smaller, with flatter bottoms (for candles) and larger (for snacks) and then next time I show these pieces I'll bring props to show the uses
